Elizabeth Pars is an artist whose work nods at Renaissance and Baroque traditions, using the past as a lens to critique and reimagine the present.
Trained at The Florence Academy of Art, Elizabeth honed a mastery of classical techniques, channelling the meticulous attention to detail and luminous quality of the Old Masters.
Having grown up in Ukraine, Elizabeth channels personal experiences of upheaval, displacement, and transformation into their art. Themes of global disconnection, environmental decay, and the loss of innocent views of life surface in her work.
“My work often blends historical references with contemporary issues, creating a dialogue between past and present that highlights both the fragility and resilience of the human experience. I explore how the ideals in historical art collide with the complexities of modern life. I hope to challenge established norms while questioning the permanence of beauty and innocence in a world shaped by social, cultural, and environmental issues.”
